GoVia Highlight A Hero – the Start
My name is Georgio Sabino III, and I am the CEO and Founder of GoVia Highlight A Hero, a community police safety platform created by an artist-turned-software developer who refused to look away from what was happening on our streets. Like many people in our communities, I watched the killing of Philando Castile and other tragedies involving everyday traffic stops that turned fatal, and I made a personal decision: if we can stream these encounters after the fact on social media, we should be able to bring real-time legal protection and accountability into the encounter itself. GoVia was born from that conviction—a belief that technology can create a genuine “win-win” between the United States and the People by making both officers and citizens safer while preserving constitutional rights.
GoVia Highlight A Hero began as a creative project from someone who has spent decades telling stories through images and design, and it has grown into a software company with issued patents and another application pending that protect our core innovations in real-time documentation, safe-encounter workflows, and accountability features. Today, GoVia is a “Community Police Safety App & Safe Encounter” platform with subscribers across the United States and abroad, built on the simple premise that everyone deserves a good encounter. Along the way, we have been humbled by endorsements and encouragement from respected voices like Les Brown, Dr. George C. Fraser, and other leaders who see this not as a gadget, but as a tool for dignity, transparency, and trust.
I want to be transparent with you: GoVia is still evolving, and we do not pretend to have all the answers for public defense, law enforcement, or the courts. What we do have is a specific, testable idea: that pre-approving eligible people for public defender services and allowing them, in a moment of police contact, to live-stream a licensed attorney into their vehicle can deescalate encounters, protect rights, and produce reliable records that help your office do its work. We are not looking to impose a finished product on your office; we are asking to co-design the next steps with you and your team—starting with a small, carefully defined pilot—so that what we build is ethically sound, operationally realistic, and truly valuable to indigent defense.
My commitment is to safer encounters, community trust, and due process—not just as a technologist, but as a citizen who believes that early access to counsel and honest documentation can save lives and prevent injustice.
